Fee Schedule:
Initial Consultations: No Charge. I listen to your accident description (if it is an event
data recorder inquiry I advise you on what EDR data is and is not available, in what
modules, for your circumstances, and the probability that you will get the data), advise
what types of engineering analysis would be most useful to your case, and what portions
of you overall case my services can cover.

Expert services: $200/hr
(If you are a prosecutor and have maximum limits on hourly rates that can be paid for
experts such as in some counties in Florida, please discuss specifics with me, I will
typically accept the maximum you are permitted to pay).

Retainer: $2000 (covers first 10 hours of billable work)
Reserves me to work for your client, assures I will not accept work from adverse parties,
and assures I will make extraordinary efforts to reschedule other non-trial work to
accommodate your deadlines and trial.

Module mailed in for readout: $500 with analysis, $300 without
If you mail a GM SDM, Ford RCM, Ford PCM, or Chrysler module in to me for readout
in my lab, a simple readout with one hour of time to listen to your case circumstances,
verbally explain what is contained in the readout, and verbally explain how the data fits
in to your case and how likely it is to help or hurt your case - $500.

I will email you the raw data file “.cdr” extension, the interpreted CDR file in “.pdf”
format, or for powertrain control modules the “.csv” text data file and readout
documentation (photos of setup and your module in my lab), and include a hard copy in
the return shipping box. I do not normally “write a report” about how the download was
performed unless you specifically request it, and such a report would be an extra charge.
For videotaping of the readout with one copy on DVD provided please add $150.

If you want my expert opinions as to the significance of the data in written form, then I
request that you retain me and I will provide an expert report at your request. To render a
written opinion, I need to review written materials such as a police report and scene
photos to be able to opine on the proper use of the data in the particular accident.

For other experts who already know how to interpret the data but simply need the benefit
of my equipment and readout expertise- $300 per module with no interpretation.

Travel to remote site and perform module readout: Travel Expenses plus labor.
A maximum of 8 billable hours or $1600 per day is charged, even if I take an early flight
out and take a late flight home. Less than 8 hour days are billed at $200/hour door to
door.

Note: I generally do not accept restraint product liability cases against any manufacturer.
